Marshall County Arts Cooperative
The Marshall County Arts Cooperative will host Choose the Arts—an immersive, one-week arts camp designed to spark creativity and bring young performers center stage.
The camp will run June 9–14 at Marysville High School, with daily classes from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The week will culminate in a special performance of the play “Stories Under the Big Top” on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. in the Marysville High School auditorium.
Under the direction of Lynette Steele Coon, with musical direction by Kim Oatney, campers will dive into all areas of theater production. Throughout the week, students will sing, dance, act, build sets and design posters—combining all the elements of the arts to put on one show.
Choose the Arts is open to students of all backgrounds who want to explore the performing arts in a fun and supportive environment. Spots are available for campers going into first grade to campers going into seventh grade.
“It’s going to be a whirlwind of creativity,” said Coon. “From the first warm-up to the final curtain call, these kids will truly get a feel for what it takes to bring a story to life on stage.”
Scholarships are available. Spots are limited, and registration will open soon. For more information or to ask questions, call 785-859-4260
