North Central Kansas Medical Center in Concordia will host its 2024 Health Fair on Saturday, October 19th, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the lower-level conference rooms. This year’s event will feature a variety of health and wellness vendors, including the Cloud County Health Department, which will offer flu shots and other immunizations.
The Health Fair offers numerous lab screening tests to support community health, including a comprehensive lab panel with tests like the Complete Blood Count (CBC), which evaluates blood cell levels, the Complete Metabolic Profile (CMP) for assessing kidney function, liver enzymes, and hydration, and a Lipid Profile that measures cholesterol and triglyceride levels to assess heart disease risk. Thyroid function will also be evaluated through a Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH) test.
Additional screenings include the Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) test for early detection of prostate conditions, Hemoglobin A1c to monitor glucose control, crucial for diabetes management, and Vitamin D Level assessments for bone health. Participants are advised to fast for 10-12 hours before their lab work; however, water and medications are permitted. Breakfast will be available in the cafeteria after lab tests are completed.
Lab screening appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling 785-243-1234. Payment options include cash and check only. Don’t miss this opportunity to focus on your health and wellness; join the Health Fair on October 19th for an informative and beneficial morning.
