The 49th annual Junction City Freedom Run will take place on July 4, 2025, as part of the Freedom Fest celebration. Registration is open for the 1-mile, 5K, and newly certified 10K races, all starting at 7:30 a.m. at 8th and Washington in downtown Junction City and finishing at Heritage Park.

The 10K’s official certification allows runners to use their times for qualifying in races nationwide, elevating the event’s competitive status. Event coordinator Terrah Stroda highlighted the hometown spirit and professional-caliber racing experience. Organizers continue to enhance the race with improved water stops, precise course markings, and chip timing.

Volunteers are welcome to help at water stations, ensure course safety, or assist at the finish line by messaging the Freedom Run – Junction City Facebook page.

The committee thanks its community partners, including local fire departments, law enforcement, the City of Junction City, Fort Riley, and Red Dirt Racing.
