The Republic County Czech Club will hold its annual Czech Royalty Pageant during the Cuba Harvest Festival on Saturday, July 19th, in Cuba. The Pageant kicks off at 2:00 p.m. at the Community Hall.

Stacia Piroutek, Czech Club Board Member, said youngsters in the community are chosen to be ambassadors of the Czech heritage. The King and Queen are awarded a scholarship.

“We’ve got a Czech Royalty Pageant we hold every year. What we do there is we work with the youngsters of the Community, anybody from 4 to 21 can enter.

“We then select four different winners, and our King and Queen receive a scholarship from our Club. We feel like that’s a nice way to repay them for their efforts to help promote not only the Club, but their heritage in the area.”

The Czech Club will also bring the ‘Trey Blecha Trio’ to the Festival on Friday, July 18th.

On Saturday, festival goers can enjoy Kolaches and Coffee in the morning, a Czech style lunch, Heritage Programming, and more in the Community Hall.

Sunday’s Czech Club activities will include a Polka Worship service, a Czech style lunch buffet, and a 50th Anniversary Ceremony. Finishing the festivities with the Kenneth Janak Orchestra from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
