The Republic County Community Foundation (RCCF) hosted its first “Fund The Future of Republic County” Match Day earlier this month, raising just under $77,000 from 359 donations.
Twenty-three nonprofits participated in the event, engaging the public directly at Kallman Office Suites. Donations were matched by RCCF up to 50%, with a maximum $5,000 match per household and a $40,000 match pool cap. The Scandia Community Foundation raised the most at just over $15,000, with funds earmarked for community improvements, while the Maya Project Fund brought in over $7,400 to support youth leadership programs.
Molly Williams, RCCF Director, noted that fund minimums must reach $10,000 within five years or be redirected to the foundation’s general community grant fund. She hopes the event boosts awareness of community investment and endowment building.
