Rohling Homestead’s Annual Easter Fundraiser Set for First Two Saturdays in April

By: Ryan Duey

Rohling Homestead, a veteran-owned family farm full of family-friendly activities outside Manhattan, will host its 5th Annual Easter Egg Hunt Fundraiser on Saturdays, April 5th and April 12th, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. There will be a large number of different attractions, with all proceeds going to support a family in need.

Wayne Rohleder, Rohling Homestead owner, said they donated proceeds the first two years to St. Jude. They now look to help local families.

“The first two years that we started the Easter egg hunt span we donated to Saint Jude.”

“In the third year, we donated to a young lady in Manhattan who had leukemia. Since then, we have asked people to give us information on a family locally that may need help, and given all proceeds to that family.”

All proceeds for this year’s Easter Egg Hunt will go to five-year-old Brogen Hiesterman and his family. Brogen was diagnosed with mixed phenotype acute leukemia, which is a very rare type of leukemia.  Additionally, it was found that he has an aortic anomaly and will require heart surgery once he beats cancer. Brogen and his family have a long road ahead and could use all the support they can get.

This fundraiser will offer food, an easter egg hunt, raffles, various animals to feed and play with, and plenty of kid-friendly activities for a small entry fee.
