The Quality of Life Coalition (QLC) of Dickinson County invites those 21 and over to join in on the fun at its Jazz Age Jeopardy: A Murder Mystery fundraising event on Saturday, February 15th at Sand Springs Venue, located just outside of Abilene. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with a catered Italian-style meal being provided and a cash bar.

Attendees are encouraged to dress in the best 1920s attire and enjoy an evening of Jazz Age inspired fun. Kat Mckee, QLC Director, said the Murder Mystery will take place in the Kat’s Meow Club.

“Felix Fontenot is a gangster prohibition Jazz Speakeasy owner, and his dad is the mob boss who is hosting a party for several of his friends. During the party, something crazy happens and we get to figure out how it happened and who did it.”

There will be a 50/50 raffle with proceeds from the raffle going to benefit QLC. Mckee said along with dancing and solving a murder, there will also be plenty of photo opportunities.

“It is an adults only event. We encourage people to dress in their 1920s apparel, so flapper dresses, tuxedos, Zoot Suits, or any kind of gangster apparel. We’ll have several different photo opportunities. Dress is encouraged, but it’s not required of course.”

Mckee said they will be offering free rides home to those who feel they may need them after the night of fun. Tickets may be purchased via cash or check either in person at QLC or the Community Foundation of Dickinson County. Patrons can also call Mckee to set up payments, with their tickets being at Will Call on the evening of the fundraiser. Registration is requested by February 10th.
