The Eisenhower Presidential Library & Foundation will commemorate the Anniversary of D-Day during its annual Symphony at Sunset Concert on Saturday, June 7th, on the Eisenhower Presidential Library Campus Grounds.
Activities will kick off at 4:00 p.m., with the first concert starting at 5:30 p.m. Samantha Pryor, Communications Director, said they will have a full evening of activities, headlined by the Salina Symphony at sundown.
“We have free admission to the museum all day, and we have a number of concerts as part of the event, including the First Infantry Division Band. They start at 7:00 p.m.”
“And then, of course, the headline feature event, the Salina Symphony, performs just as the sun starts to go down around 8:30 p.m.”
This year’s Salina Symphony Concert will feature guest singer Samantha Rose Williams. Other performances will include The Blades Concert, Mounted Color Guard Demonstrations, the Guardians of Omaha Beach Flag Ceremony, and more.
Pryor said the virtual WWII Emerging Scholars Symposium will take place the week before the Symphony at Sunset.
“We have the World War II Emerging Scholars Symposium, and that takes place online. All the details will be available on our website. People can stream the programs live and get to know some of the new up-and-coming Scholars and hear about some of their new Scholarships regarding World War II.”
