Take a Guided Tour of the Flint Hills this Saturday

By Ryan Duey

The Flint Hills Discovery Center and K-State Parks Management and Conservation Program will offer free guided hikes of the Konza Prairie Nature Trail on Saturday, April 13th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Explore the beautiful tallgrass prairie as a student guide provides insights about the natural and cultural resources the Flint Hills has to offer. Each hike is 2.6 miles long and takes no more than 90 minutes.

Hikes leave every 30 minutes and are led by a K-State undergraduate student. It is recommended that hikers wear good walking shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather. Consider bringing a water bottle, hat, and sunscreen as necessary. Each tour is filled first-come, first-serve and is capped at a maximum of 15 participants.

Hikers will park and meet at the Konza Prairie Nature Trail trailhead by the brown information kiosk. All ages are welcome.
