May is Trauma Awareness Month, and the American Red Cross urges people to make blood donation a priority. Emergencies can strike without warning, and donated blood helps ensure hospitals are ready to respond.

Type O blood donors and platelet donors are especially needed. Type O negative is the universal donor type and crucial in emergencies, while type O positive is the most commonly used. Platelets help control bleeding in trauma cases.

Upcoming Area Blood Drives Include:

  • May 27 at Bennington Community Fire/EMS
  • May 29 at the Methodist Church in Courtland
  • May 30 at Clay County Medical Center.

All are excellent opportunities to help patients in urgent need. Your donation can make a life-saving difference. Schedule your appointment today at RedCrossBlood.org.
