Washington to Host Blood Drive on April 24th

Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood or platelets. Approximately 29,000 units of blood, 5,000 units of platelets, and 6,500 units of plasma are needed daily to help those in need according to the American Red Cross.

The dangerous winter weather conditions that stretched across the nation earlier this year have resulted in more than 25,000 blood and platelet donations being uncollected. The Red Cross needs donors, especially type O and platelet donors.

The Red Cross will host a Blood Drive in Washington on Thursday, April 24th, at the KSDS Training Center from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visit RedCrossBlood.org to make an appointment.
