Sunset Zoo

Join Sunset Zoo for our annual hometown family-friendly holiday event, Santa’s Luminary Trail on Saturday, November 30th, and Sunday, December 1st from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Current Friends of Sunset Zoo Members receive exclusive early entry at 4:30 pm.

Guests will enjoy holiday lights all along the African Trail Loop, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus inside the Nature Exploration Center where you can take pictures, enjoy warm drinks, sweet treats, arts and crafts, story time, animal encounters and more. 

“Bringing the community together is part of what we do at Sunset Zoo to inspire conservation of the natural world as part of our mission. We hope all who attend learn a little more about animal conservation and have a wonderful start to the holiday season,” said Scott Shoemaker, Director of Sunset Zoo. 

This holiday event is in its fifth year at Sunset Zoo and is a way to bring the community together at the Zoo during a different season of the year. Proceeds from the event help with overall conservation efforts of Sunset Zoo and the event is hosted by the Friends of Sunset Zoo. 

“As the President of Friends of Sunset Zoo, we strive to offer family centered events throughout the year to connect with our members and to encourage those in the community to join Sunset Zoo. Many families who attend this event are members and we encourage everyone to come join us for this winter holiday fun. This year guests will see a difference in the display of lights and will hopefully enjoy what we have to offer thanks to our sponsors that have helped make this event possible,” said Shawn White, President of Friends of Sunset Zoo.
