National Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child
National Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child will be here soon (November 14 to November 21, 2022).
We want everyone to feel safe as we go through the process so we will continue to offer both curbside and inside collection. As always please feel welcome to come inside the church. It will be so nice to put names with faces. Please call or text me when you’re on your way to drop off shoeboxes so that we will be waiting for you. Also, if the times listed below don’t work for you contact me and I can meet you out at the church.
Here are a few reminders:
*Make sure all shipping donations are put inside the provided envelope on the OCC brochure and put INSIDE the box. It is not necessary to have separate checks for multiple boxes. If your church pays for the boxes you can do the same (put inside one box). All checks should be made to “Samaritan’s Purse”. There is also a “Follow Your Box” option available online.
If you prefer you can mail directly to:
PO Box 3000
Boone, NC 28607-9956
*You do not need to use an OCC specific box. Any shoebox will do.
*Filler Items are accepted. If you have too many items that do not fit in your shoeboxes we will gladly send them on to the Processing Center for use there.
*Please remind your donors to not tape their boxes. The boxes are opened at the Processing Center so a rubber band is the best option.
*We will again be using the QR Code as an option for those of you who are comfortable doing that. Have your cell phones along with an idea of how many boxes you are dropping off. I will have the Code and will help you. The process is very easy but not required. To use the QR Code option an email address is required.
*Another available option is to “Build a Shoebox Online”. This is a handy option for those that don’t like to ship, those that don’t have time or as an option after National Collection Week. It is very easy. Please let your congregations know about this option.
*I won’t be able to accept boxes after 10:00 am on November 21st. That is the day we take the shoeboxes to the Collection site. The boxes will be loaded on a semi trailer and be on their way to the Processing Center.
*PRAY! Please pray for the lives that are touched by these gifts. We pray that the Gospel is shared and received by each child that receives a shoebox gift.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need any materials or shoeboxes.
