Riley County Health Department Opens Doors to Walk-In Appointments For First Time Since 2015

Riley Co., Kan. — Beginning March 1, the Riley County Health Department will offer some services on a walk-in basis. Riley County Public Information Officer, Vivienne Uccello, said the health department hasn’t been able to offer this service since 2015.

She continued that now COVID funding and other grant funding allowed them to hire more staff to and offer walking services for some health care concerns.
Those include immunizations, TB skin tests, Plan B, Blood pressure check, vaccine titers to confirm immunity, b12 injections, head lice checks and testing, counseling and treatment of STIs.

Most Family Planning Services, including birth control prescriptions and well women exams, will only be available by appointment.
The hours for both walk-ins and scheduled appointments at the health clinic are:

  •  Monday – Wednesday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Thursday: 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  •  Friday 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
