The National Greyhound Association (NGA) in Abilene has appointed Connie Karsmizki as Secretary-Treasurer, serving as the organization’s chief administrative and financial officer. She succeeds former executive director Jim Gartland, who retired in December 2025, and brings more than 40 years of service to the greyhound industry.

Karsmizki previously served as Assistant Secretary-Treasurer, working alongside leaders including Hall of Famer Gary Guccione. Her experience spans member services, financial oversight, registry management, and coordination of National Meets.

As Secretary-Treasurer, she will oversee daily operations, manage finances, supervise staff and contractors, coordinate National Meets, and serve as Keeper of the Stud Book. NGA Board President Julia Ward praised Karsmizki’s institutional knowledge and leadership.

Founded in 1906, the NGA maintains the official U.S. racing greyhound registry and supports the racing and adoption communities.
