Village Manor Receives Five Star Rating From Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

Abilene, Kan. — Village Manor in Abilene, an affiliate of Memorial Health System (MHS), has once again been awarded five stars by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The rating will be published on the Care Compare website at medicare.gov.
“I am very proud of the hard work that all of the Village Manor employees have put in, especially in such a difficult time we have had over the last couple of years,” said Village Manor Executive Director Andy Sutter. “Receiving this rating again reflects our team’s continued commitment to our residents.”
Nursing homes with five stars, the highest rating possible, are considered to be well above average quality. The system determines an overall star rating for each nursing home and a separate rating for health inspections, staffing, and quality measures, which offer information on how well nursing homes are caring for their residents’ physical and clinical needs. The star rating system is designed to help consumers, their families, and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily and to help identify areas about which consumers may want to ask questions.
“I’m proud of the dedication and commitment of our staff at Village Manor,” said MHS Chief Executive Officer Harold Courtois. “This is confirmation of the quality of care and compassion provided to our residents.”
