At 10:55 a.m. on Wednesday, the Manhattan Fire Department was dispatched to 2409 Lookout Dr. for a report of a structure fire. Upon arrival, crews found a single-story home with fire and smoke showing from the attached garage.
The fire was contained within 15 minutes. A total of 15 firefighters responded on 5 fire apparatus. Family members removed an occupant with a physical disability before the fire companies arrived. No injuries were reported.
The building is a single-family residence. A loss estimate is not available at this time, but damage to the residence was significant. The owner is listed as Wanda Jepsen of the same address. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
