The Abilene Rotary Club is close to completing its county-wide AED (Automated External Defibrillator) project, which has increased the number of registered AEDs on the Pulse Point app in Dickinson County from just 2 to nearly 82.

This life-saving initiative ensures that EMS, 911 dispatchers, and the public have quick access to AED locations during emergency situations. Club members have documented exact locations and monitor battery status to maintain readiness.

Grants from the Rotary Foundation and the Community Foundation of Dickinson County funded five AEDs and three cases. An additional $5,000 raised locally will support an outdoor Save Station in Abilene.

Residents are encouraged to download the free Pulse Point app to access AED locations quickly in times of need.
