Irrigation Ales Adds Specialty Beer to Support ALS

By: Ryan Duey

Irrigation Ales in Courtland is partnering with the ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI) and other breweries across the U.S. for “Ales for ALS.”  The Program has raised over $5.5 million for ALS research since it started in 2013.

Luke Mahin, Irrigation Ales Co-owner and Brewer, said they have been participating in this Program since they opened a few years ago.

Mahin gives insight into how “Ales for ALS” works and how you can find breweries across the country participating in this Program.

Irrigation Ales has “Billy Beer IPA” on tap and available in cans in their taproom for this collaboration. Proceeds from the “Billy Beer IPA” will be donated to ALS TDI in honor of his grandfather. Mahin said you can also donate to this cause without purchasing a pint in their taproom.

Irrigation Ales is open Thursdays and Fridays from 5-10 p.m. and Saturdays from 12-10 p.m. Mahin said they invite everyone to help celebrate Bill Sr.’s life and support others battling ALS by purchasing a pint or donating to this effort.
