Department Director Cheryl Skalla proposed these new hours to the County Commissioners. The Board voted 2 to 1 to allow the changes on a trial basis. Commissioners will review the changes during their December 2nd Board meeting.
Commissioners had thought about the impact on the community with this new change in hours. Mention of rotating employee coverage to keep the Department open on Friday, but Skalla pointed out that previous attempts at this didn’t work well and were abandoned. The Board said they are willing to try the new proposal as long as Skalla is flexible with the proposal.
