Pawnee Mental Health To Bring Mobile Crisis Unit To Clay County

Pawnee Mental Health will soon be piloting a Mobile Crisis Unit in Clay and Geary Counties. Brynne Haverkamp is the Crisis Director with Pawnee Mental Health. She says the goal of the unit is to increase accessibility to mental health services to those in a mental health crisis, especially to those in more rural areas:

Haverkamp says the unit plans to be a standalone service in situations that don’t require them to utilize law enforcement. However, she still foresees the unit as being a great partner to local law enforcement for emergencies which do require both mental health and physical response methods.

Haverkamp says they hope to make the Mobile Crisis Unit available 24/7:
