Common Table, a Manhattan non-profit, provides free meals daily to those in need. Previously hosted by rotating local churches, meals will now be served at the Lincoln Education Center, which also houses the USD 383 district offices, starting Monday, January 6th. The service begins at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m., accessible through Door 6 on the building’s south side near the west-end courtyard.
Common Table chair Deb Nuss expressed enthusiasm for the new dedicated space, highlighting its potential to enhance community involvement. She praised the school district’s cooperation, for facilitating the transition.
The new arrangement allows Common Table to operate seven days a week, year-round. Churches previously hosting the meals include First Lutheran, First Congregational, First Presbyterian, First United Methodist, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
