Everybody Counts Celebrated 10 Years with Record Numbers

By: Ryan Duey

The Everybody Counts Event in Manhattan celebrated 10 years of helping the community with a record year last Saturday.

This free yearly event, held on the first Saturday in August, provides resources for families in need who may not have regular access to these resources. Deb Nuss, Event Organizer, this event started a decade ago after noticing a large number of children in the area experiencing homelessness.

Nearly 70 organizations attended this year’s event, providing everything from haircuts, food distribution, health screenings, veterinary care, a clothing drive, plus much more. Ness said they wanted to celebrate their tenth year of serving the community.

The yearly growth of organizations attending this event provides much needed resources and information to families before the beginning of the school year.
