Adam Matthew Miller, 31, of Morrowville, died Monday, Feb 20th at his parents’ home surrounded by his wife; Katelyn, his parents and his brother and sister. He was born in Fairbury on April 11, 1991 to Matt & Lori Miller. Adam was baptized at his home church in Morrowville, Kansas.

Adam went to grade school in Haddam, Kansas then onto Washington for middle school and high school where he graduated in 2009. Adam was very active in sports, playing basketball, football and track all four years. He participated in FBLA, FCCLA, Choir and was an Honor Roll student all four years of high school. Adam enjoyed acting and participated in many school plays. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, singing and working on the farm with his dad and brother. Adam grew up singing with his siblings in church and also sang at many weddings. Adam had many jobs throughout the summers, consisting of building fence and working construction.

Adam attended the University of Kansas and received a degree in physical education. Captain Adam Miller commissioned in the Air Force in 2014. He commanded over 161 combat missions and collected over 500 flying hours as an MQ-9 reaper pilot. Adam earned the coveted Squadron Pilot of the Quarter award for the second quarter in 2017 and was awarded the Air Force Achievement medal. He went “Winchester” his first time out; meaning he deployed all weaponry from his aircraft and ultimately hit every assigned target during that one mission.

Adam married Katelyn Johnson on September 30th, 2017, a beautiful fall wedding located at a barn in Hesston, Kansas. They were blessed with two children; Elizabeth Dawn and Isaiah Adam. They recently built a house near Adam’s family. Adam and Kate loved to travel, they were frequent visitors of Branson, MO and also traveled to Alabama and Florida where Kate’s family lives.

Adam spent a lot of time with his family and friends – you would often find him with family riding four-wheelers, fishing, playing catch or shooting hoops with his nephew Westin. Being an uncle was something that Adam had a passion for. He made it a priority to be at every sporting event, school program and Christmas program in his nieces and nephews lives. Adam spent a lot of time with his brother Isaac; hunting, wrestling, quoting movies and singing songs. Adam also enjoyed playing co-ed softball with his cousins.

Adam had a strong faith in God. He was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma brain tumor early 2018. Adam never lost faith, often referred to this tumor as “Goliath” and as his Team Adam shirts explained that if there is a Goliath in front of you, there is a David inside you. Adam had a passionate prayer life and walked the path that God set before him. Adam had strength like a lion, always going the extra mile and never settling for less.
