Obituary-Anita Budreau

Anita L. (Bessette) Budreau, age 88, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas.  Anita was born on October 21, 1937, in Concordia, Kansas to William and Lillie (Beauregard) Bessette. 

She was a 1955 graduate of Concordia Catholic High. On May 25, 1959, she married Ronald “Tiny” L. Budreau at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Concordia, Kansas.  He preceded her in death on May 24, 2017.  To this union 4 children were born, Cindy, Danny, Tina, and Brenda. 

Anita retired from Radiology Consultants and later worked for USD 333 in the school cafeteria where she loved greeting all the kids.   

She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, Kansas.  She later attended St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, in Clay Center. 

Her hobbies included: cross stitching quilts for her kids grandkids and great-grandkids.  She was an incredible canner and loved canning all the vegetables that Ron grew and later canning jelly with her grandkids.  When visiting her son and grandkids in Iowa catching the biggest bass was something she always bragged about.  She loved spending time with family and attending all her families different sporting events. She never missed a game, rain or shine and would often travel with family to out of town games. Her greatest joy in life was being with her kids and grandkids.   

Survived by her 4 children, daughter, Cindy Barrett, Scandia, KS.; son, Danny Budreau (Julie), Cedar Falls, IA.; daughter, Tina Torgler, Wichita, KS.; daughter, Brenda Siebold (Randy), Clay Center, KS.; sister-in-law, Emma Budreau, Jamestown, KS.; brother, Jerry Bessette, Topeka, KS., 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 new great-grandchildren to arrive this year.   

Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald “Tiny” Budreau, parents, William and Lillie Bessette, sister, Pat Hamel (husband Dean), sister-in-law Linda Bessette.   

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, with a Vigil Service followed by a Rosary Service that will be held at 6:00 p.m., Sunday evening all at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas.  Family will receive friends after the Vigil/Rosary Service. 

Mass of a Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with Fr. Joseph Kieffer officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas.  There will be a luncheon served back at the Catholic Church following the graveside service.
