Obituary-Ann Appleton

Ann Appleton, 86 died December 5, 2023, in Clay Center, KS.  She was born on April 2, 1937, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Oliver and Alice (Hanson) Munson.  Ann was a graduate of the Class of 1955 from Clay Center High School. She married Gary Appleton on July 29, 1955.  They made their home in Missouri and Kansas as Gary served in the US Air Force and later as a United Methodist minister.  They returned to Clay Center when Gary retired.  Ann worked for KCLY radio station for several years.  Gary preceded her in death on April 11, 2009.  Ann was a member of the United Methodist Church where she played bells and the piano, active in the United Methodist Women’s organization and a member of the Pilot Club.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Mark Appleton, brother, Gary Munson, sister, Verena Jackson, and a grandson.

6 grandchildren and two Great-grandchildren

Funeral Services: 10:00 AM Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Clay Center United Methodist Church in Clay Center, KS 

Minister: Rev. Reuben Langat

Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas

Visitation: 4-7 PM Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home
