Carolyn A. Dusin, 84, Washington, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 29, 2025 at her home.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Friday, December 5, 2025 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Washington.
A vigil service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday with a funeral service following at 10:30 a.m., at the church.
Pallbearers are Beckett Dusin, Gavin Sykes, Tyler Tremblay, Jason Roche, Dawson Girard and Kevin Boyer. Honorary pallbearers are Boone Tyler, Thadd Tremblay, Scott Tremblay and Max Ayotte.
Burial will be in the Washington City Cemetery.
Carolyn was born November 25, 1941 in Haddam to Oliver and Eleanor (Klataska) Tremblay. In 1959 she graduated from Washington High School and moved to Topeka to work at the ASCS office, before returning to Washington and work for the ASCS office there.
She married Robert L. Dusin on September 21, 1968 and together they ran the family business, Dusin Enterprises, Inc. for 46 years, retiring in 2014.
Carolyn was a member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, Hearts and Things, the Elks Club and helped with the local food pantry. She volunteered at Washington Grade School, reading to the children and listening to them read to her.
She was a wonderful self-taught gifted painter and enjoyed painting landscapes on sawblades, painting things for her family and Hearts and Things. But her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She loved reading with them, teaching them the joy she found in painting, cooking, baking and playing all sorts of games. Kings in the Corner, being a favorite.
Carolyn enjoyed watching sports, basketball and baseball being her favorites, especially when her grandchildren were playing them. She rarely missed a game.
Her grace, kindness and love will never be forgotten. She had quick wit and humor that everyone loved and she loved watching red Cardinals.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and brother-in-law, Vernon Tegethoff.
Survivors include her husband, Bob; children, Ginger Tyler, Lenexa, Bridget Knight, Kansas City and Corey (Christa) Dusin, Washington; grandchildren, Megan (Kevin) Boyer, Lincoln, NE, Max (Cierra) Ayotte, Albuquerque, NM, Boone Tyler, Lenexa, Jade Tyler, Lenexa, Riley (Dawson) Girard, Overland Park, Ella Dusin, Washington, Beckett Dusin, Washington; great grandchildren, Gavin Sykes, Kash Boyer and Brooke Tyler; sister, Janice Tegethoff, Marysville; brothers, Robert Tremblay, Hays, Steve (Karen) Tremblay, Washington; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington.
