Obituary-Conrad Girard

Conrad L. “Connie” Girard, 81 of Miltonvale, Kansas, died on Monday, December 1, 2025 at the University of Kansas Health System – St. Francis campus in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on March 31, 1944 in Cloud County, Kansas, the son of Emery and Anne (Smith) Girard.

Connie grew up in the Miltonvale area and graduated from Miltonvale High School in 1962. He married Sandra Gunter on January 28, 1971. He owned G&G Construction and worked for the Miltonvale CO-OP. He attended trade school in Wichita and became certified in water and sewer. Connie later worked for the City of Miltonvale and retired after 25 years as maintenance supervisor.

Connie was a past member of the Knights of Columbus and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. He enjoyed mowing, woodworking, fishing and camping. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, David, 2 granddaughters, Kaylee and Tanner and 4 great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra of Miltonvale, Kansas; sons, Jason and wife, Rena of Euless, Texas, Ashley and wife, Carrie Girard of Joplin, Missouri and Treffley and wife, Jessica of Lyndon, Kansas; daughter, Tara and husband, Brian Gildart of Thayer, Kansas;13 grandchildren, Trevor (Nomi) Girard, Tyler Girard, Aaron (Veronica) Girard, Jacklyn (Shane) Vo, Annie Girard, Tabree (Gage) Jones, Bryson Gildart, Brogan Gildart, Chandler Girard-Jacquinot, Quierstee Girard, Rory Girard, Leina Girard and Everle Girard ; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Kenneth and wife, Trudy of Miltonvale, Kansas and sisters, Becky Guy of Belleville, Kansas and Bonnie and husband, Steve Kohl of Oak Hill, Kansas.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 10:30AM at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Miltonvale, Kansas.

Interment will be in the Miltonvale Cemetery in Miltonvale, Kansas.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025 from 5-6:30PM, with the Rosary beginning at 6:30PM, at the Phelps Funeral Home in Miltonvale, Kansas.

Memorial contributions may be to the Conrad Girard memorial fund, to be designated later by the family, and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
