Obituary-Deanna Hess

Deanna Lynn Hess, age 56, passed away on December 8, 2024, in Clay County, KS. She was born on March 17, 1968, to Theodore and Beverly (Kincaid) Siemers in Osbourne, KS. Deanna lived in Luray, KS until moving to Wyoming. She attended schools in Wyoming until her freshman year when her family moved to Clay Center. Deanna was a graduate of Clay Center Community High School. She married Richard “Rick” Hess on March 20, 1986. To this union three children were born Christopher, Beverly and Vanessa. Deanna was employed by Great Plains Manufacturing in Abilene. She enjoyed fishing, crafting, making silk flower arrangements and going for walks. Deanna loved her family deeply. She loved watching her grandchildren’s sport activities and playing kick ball in the yard with them. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Johnathan Siemers.

Daughter: Beverly and husband Blake Crisco of Marysville, KS

Daughter: Vanessa and husband Michael Bowser of Clay Center, KS

Grandchildren: Justin and Annalynn Hess, Isobel, Serenity, and Anthony Crisco, Brody, Addison and Brenden Bowser

Brother: David and wife Peggy Siemers of Council Grove, KS

Brother: Hank Siemers of Beloit, KS

Funeral Services: 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, KS 

Minister: Reverend Scott Lingle

Visitation: Friday, December 13, 2024, from 4-7 PM at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home

Memorials can be made to the Clay Center Zoo to be used for the zoo improvement project and a memorial garden space on the walking trails c/o the funeral home.
