Obituary-Dorcile Eileen Moon

Dorcile Eileen Moon, age 81 of Clay Center, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the Clay Center Presbyterian Manor.

She was born on May 4, 1941 in Bala, the daughter of Carl and Naomi Gertrude (Gassert) Bulk.  She graduated from Riley County High School.

On August 9, 1959 at the Bala Presbyterian Church, she married Garold Dean Moon.  He preceded her in death in 2021.

Dorcile was a daycare provider for over 45 years in her home.  She was a member of the Clay Center Wesleyan, helping with funeral dinners, Vacation Bible School and Sunday School, American Legion Auxiliary and V.F.W. Auxiliary.  She enjoyed volunteering with the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and American Legion,

She is survived by one daughter, Dena Van Horn (William)of Clay Center; one son, Brian Moon (Deb) of Longford; three brothers, Bobby Bulk of Clay Center, Donald Bulk (Nellie) of Morganville, and Vern Bulk of Riley; one sister, Ruth Drown of Minneapolis, and three grandchildren, Cody Moon (Haley), Dylan Moon, and Melody Rowland.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Douglas Moon; one grandson, Malakai Rowland-Van Horn; one brother, Royce Bulk; two sisters-in-law, Kim Bulk and Sherrie Bulk, and one brother-in-law, Duane Drown.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2022 at the Clay Center Wesleyan Church.  Inurnment will be at a later date in the Bala Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Clay Center American Legion Auxiliary.  Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
