Obituary-Dorothy L. Havel

Dorothy L. Havel, age 93, entered into rest on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the Park Villa Nursing Home, Clyde, Kansas.  She was born January 21, 1928 in rural St. Joseph, Kansas to Frank and Rosanna (Ouellette) Fief.

Dorothy married Don B. Havel on February 13, 1945 in Cuba, Kansas.  They were united in marriage for over 71 years.  To this Union 6 boys were born, Lynn, Michael, Martin, Cameron, Nicholas, and John.  Don preceded Dorothy in death on June 25, 2016.

Dorothy was a homemaker who lovingly raised 6 boys.

Dorothy always had a smile on her face and a loving word, her kindness was evident to all who knew her.

She was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.  Dorothy’s faith and her family were her most important and cherished treasures.

Survivors include her six sons, Lynn (Joni), Gunnison, CO.; Michael (Juanita), LaGrange, IL.; Martin (Joyce), Cheyenne, WY.; Cameron,  Salina, KS.; Nicholas (Elaine), Wichita, KS., and John Havel (Jenny), Sydney, Australia.; 11 Grandchildren & 17Great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Rosanna, 3 brothers, Elmer, Leo, Virgil Fief, 3 sisters, Ella Marcotte, Edna Sorell, and Rena Skinner.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 21, 2022 at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, Kansas with Fr. Steven Heina officiating.   Inurnment will follow in the Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
