Obituary-Eldyn “Al” Peck

Eldyn “Al” Peck, 90 of Clay Center, died Friday, May 20 , 2022 at his residence.  He was born on February 22, 1932 in Birdsall, New York, the son of William and Lena (Wheaton) Peck.
Al came to the Clay Center areawhen he was stationed at Fort Riley after a tour of duty in Germany in the early 1950s and he later served in Korea.  He married a Kansas girl by the name of Betty May and remained in Kansas after he left the Army.  Betty preceded him in death on December 13, 2018.  Al then married Kaaren Lindberg on March 7, 2020.
He was a heavy equipment operator and worked for the City of Clay Center as the Street Commisioner until his retirement and then worked for Mel’s pump and plumbing for several years.
AL is also preceded in death by his parents and 12 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Kaaren Peck of Clay Center; daughter, Jeni Peck of Clay Center; son, Patrick Peck of West Plains, Missouri; stepson, Shane and wife, Jody Lund of Willow Springs, Missouri; stepson, Royce and wife, Ashley Woodworth of Clay Center; stepdaughter, P. Ileene and husband, Dan Strauss of Riley; 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; and his sister, Betty Kelly of Pennsylvania.
A Memorial Celebration will be held from 3-5:30PM on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Clay Center Fellowship Hall in Clay Center, Kansas.  Military Honors will be rendered at 4:00PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to Meadowlark Hospice and can be sent c/o the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home.
