Obituary-Floyd L. Rogge

Floyd Rogge 89, Greenleaf, died Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Frankfort Community Care Home, Frankfort, KS.

Funeral service is 2 p.m., Monday, August 8, 2022 at Ward Funeral Home, Washington.

Burial is in Washington City Cemetery.

Floyd was born December 23, 1932, to Ted Rogge and Rita Wilson in Palmer, Kansas.  He finished 8th grade and went to work for his father.  He later joined the Air Force and was stationed at Holloman Airforce Base, where he was a flight mechanic.  He worked on B-45 and B-50 aircraft and really enjoyed his time in the service.  Floyd served from 1953 to 1957.  After he was honorably discharged, he returned to Linn.

He was united in marriage to Eleanor Heck on June 26, 1955 in Morrowville.  The had two sons, Lester Wayne and Mark Allen.

Floyd spent most of his life building homes and doing brick and stone masonry work, mostly in Hanover and Washington area.  He excelled at everything he did, he was a master craftsman.  In his sparetime he loved to fish with his sons, bowling and building and flying remote-controlled airplanes.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his beloved wife, Eleanor; son, Mark; and all stepbrothers and sisters.

Survivors include his son, Lester (Sherry) Rogge; grandsons, Chris Rogge and Jon Rogge; granddaughter, Jessica (Sarah) Rogge; and great grandson, Noah Wayne Rogge.

A memorial fund is established and will be designated later.  Contributions may be sent in care of  Ward Funeral Home, Washington.
