Obituary-Fred Beeman

Fred L. Beeman, 69, of Washington, KS, passed away on June 3, 2022, in Washington.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., June 18 at the Washington Christian Church.
Fred was born November 7, 1952, in Washington, KS, to Everett and Louise (Barnes) Beeman. In 1970, he graduated from Washington High School. In 1971, he was drafted into the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War where he received a Bronze Star. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Kansas and attended Kansas State University becoming a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
Over the years he worked as a veterinarian in Pierre, SD,  and Norton, KS. He later followed his children and moved to Sacramento, CA, to be closer to them and continued his work as a veterinarian.
Fred was a social person and enjoyed people. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and cheering for the Chiefs.   Fred had a gift for storytelling, and a long list of bad dad jokes that he would share with anyone at any time.  He was a heck of a cowboy spending many years working at the business end of cattle, and somehow was able to golf well, in cowboy boots and jeans.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Beeman Johnson.
Survivors include his son, Neil (Kate) Beeman, Auburn, CA; daughter, Amy (Scott) Grant, Koloa, HI; brothers, Terry (Nancy) Beeman, Topeka, KS, and Gary (Jan) Beeman, Ridgeway, CO; father, Ric Johnson; and grandchildren, Presley, Hudson, Emma and Connor.
A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
