Obituary-Gus Ethan Hiesterman

Gus Ethan Hiesterman was delivered asleep in the arms of his Heavenly Father on January 19, 2024, at Bryan Medical Center in Lincoln, NE.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 26, at Zion Lutheran Church in Linn, KS.

The committal service will be near Barnes, KS, on God’s Hill next to his grandpa and grandma, Ernie and Cindy (Drebes) Hiesterman.  Those that love him will forever remember him as they watch the crops grow, cattle graze, and wildflowers sway in the Kansas wind when they visit his grave.

Gus will be missed greatly by his parents, Daniel and Lydia Hiesterman; sisters, Lorena, Ida, and Hilda Hiesterman; and brother, Dietrich Hiesterman.  Other survivors include his grandparents, Ethan and Penny Cox of White Hall, IL; great-grandmother, Norma Drebes Megenity of Barnes; aunts and uncles, Jeremy and Kate Olson of Palmer, KS, Kevin and Laura Clark of Barnes, Michael and Addie Gramelspacher of O’Fallon, IL, and Maria Cox of Carrollton, IL; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernie and Cindy (Drebes) Hiesterman; and cousins, Kaden Clark and Savannah Clark.

A memorial fund has been established for Linn Lutheran School in Linn, KS.  Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
