Obituary-Jane Ross

Sara Jane Ross, 80, Meriden, formerly of Washington, died Sunday, April 9, 2023 at the Kelly House in Meriden.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, April 15 at Ward Funeral Home in Washington with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Parallel Cemetery, Clifton.

Jane was born on June 22, 1942 in Clay Center, KS to Charles and Velma (Gabbert) Lakin.  In 1960, she graduated from Burdett High School in Burdett, KS.

Jane was united in marriage to Robert E. Ross on August 19, 1961. in Clifton, KS.  Jane worked for the Washington County Appraiser from which she retired.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Jane always enjoyed family and doing arts and crafts.  She especially enjoyed having craft projects for the grandkids when they came to visit.  She truly enjoyed being grandma Jane.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Robert in 2013; and sister, Mary Ann Van Dusen.

Survivors include her sons, Robert J. (Megan) Ross, Newton, Michael (Janell) Ross, Meridian; daughters, Nan Ross, Kansas City and Nori (Kurtis) Gill, El Reno, OK; twelve grandchildren, Joshua Dankenbring, Emily Ross, Mollee Smith, Maggee Smith, Graycee Ross, Jorgee Ross, Addie (Ricky) Duke , Morgan (Austin) Marshall , Kasey Gill, Courtney (Jason) Jeschke , Blake Ross, Caitlyn Ross; and three great grandchildren, Rylee Jeschke, Finley Marshall, Avery Marshall.

A memorial fund is established to Elara Hospice, 901 NE River Road, Topeka, KS 66616.  Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington.
