Obituary- Jon Peter Cook

Jon Peter Cook, beloved husband, father, and grandfather entered into rest on January 9, 2025

Jon was born on April 10, 1948, in Greeley Colorado to Glen Willard and Marian Elizabeth (Schwarz) Cook. 

His early years were spent by his father’s side learning the love of all things mechanical.

In 1966 Jon graduated from Palmdale High School, Palmdale,

California. Shortly after graduation, he was drafted into the US Navy, where he went on to serve two tours in Vietnam.

After returning from Vietnam, he went to work at Lockheed Martin. Jon spent his life working as an auto mechanic retiring from Howdy’s Community Service in Washington Kansas in 2009. 

During his retirement he enjoyed woodworking and gardening, building many beautiful things from whatever he could get his hands on. His gardens were a perfect place to make memories with family and friends. 

Jon’s life was full of love and a large family; his absence will be felt by many for years to come. 

He was preceded in death by twin sons Timothy James, and Peter Saul, and his parents Glen and Marian. 

He is survived by his wife Debbie Jo; children, Rob (Darcy) Patton-Cook, Wendi Cook, Brian (Tamara) Hightower, Rachel (Jamie) Bolejack, Michelle (Keith) Evans, Joseph (Dawn) Cook, and April Cook; grandchildren, Tyler, Ethan and Chloe Solis-Cook, Allison (Tyler) Hawkinson, Emily (Ryan) Stang, Jacob (Tate) Trumble, Jared Trumble, Joshua (Nikkel) Trumble, Joseph (Grace) Trumble, Jeremiah Bolejack, Julianne Bolejack, Mercedes (Grant) Stunkel-Mertz, Samantha (Kevin) Stunkel, Logan (Cecelia) Davis, Turner Herrs, Emma (Camden) Cook, Madison Jesse, and Brian Jesse; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Jared Jr, and Parker Trumble, Hazel Stunkel-Mertz, Carson Lebeuf, Violet, and Scarlet Blackburn; and sister, Jane (Roger) Larson; and many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. 

A private family service will be held at a later date with burial at Maplewood Cemetery Barnes.
