Karen Eby, age 82, of Concordia, KS, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at the Newton Medical Center, Newton, KS.  She was born on June 12, 1943 in Newton, KS to Edwin & Zella (Marshall) Grace.

She graduated from Newton High School in 1961.

When she came to Concordia in 1967 she began working as a secretary for the physical therapy & later nursing departments at St. Joseph Hospital and later Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS for over 30 years until her retirement in 2016.  She also worked for Wal-Mart in the jewelry department until 2010.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Concordia and P.E.O.

She is survived by her daughter, Tricia Koester (Roger), Concordia; grandchildren, Gavin Koester (Hannah), Wichita, KS, Garet Koester (Hannah), Concordia, KS & Jaida Koester, Manhattan, KS; great grandchildren, Graham, Jude, Silas & Charlotte Koester, Wichita, KS and Clayton & Emma Koester, Concordia, KS and her brother-in-law, Frank Moore, Wichita, KS.

She was preceded in death her parents; sister, Carole Moore; brother, Richard Grace; sister in law, Evelyn Grace; and a grandson, Grant Koester.

The family selected cremation and a Memorial service will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 10, 2026 with Pastor Tim Miller officiating.  Private family burial will be at Nelson Cemetery, Huscher, KS at a later date.  Friends may sign the register book on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 1-8 pm with the family greeting friends from 6-7 pm at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Sunset Nursing Home for a new call light system in care of the funeral home.  For online condolences please visit www.chaputbuoy.com.
