Ladonna R. Nemechek, age 84, of Blue Rapids, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville.
Ladonna was born February 5, 1939, in Burr Oak, Kansas, to Lloyd E. and Sarah A. (Cook) Newman. She married Lyle L. Nemechek on October 30, 1954 in Blue Rapids. When Rodney was in Kindergarten she started Nursing School and served in that career for almost fifty years.
Ladonna loved many things, her family most of all. She also loved hugs and saying “I Love You”. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren’s sports, traveling, and going “East” (to the casino). She was also loved to crochet, making many afghans for her family.
Survivors include her husband Lyle, Sr., her two children; Hugh (Alice) Nemechek of Marysville and Cindy (Bill) Tryon of Blue Rapids, a brother, Robert Newman of Enid, Oklahoma, two sisters: Sharon Skillin of Blue Rapids and Jeannette Toburen of Manhattan, eight grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Ladonna was preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Rodney Nemechek and Lyle Nemechek, Jr., a brother Ronald Newman and a sister Linda McAboy.
Viewing is from noon to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, June 21, 2023 with visitation between 6:00 and 8:00 pm, at Christie-Anderes Funeral Home in Waterville.
Funeral services are at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Waterville United Methodist Church with Pastor Berniece Ludlum officiating. Kim Oatney is the musician. Casket Bearers are Jay Nemechek, Justin Nemechek, Dustin Tryon, Mike Tryon, Treven Breasseale and Allen Tryon. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery in Waterville.
