Lloyd Winfield Wickersham, age 82, died on September 21, 2024, in Kansas City, Kansas. He was born on September 13, 1942, in Columbus, Kansas to George and Hatti (Simmons) Wickersham. Lloyd attended Cherokee County grade school until eight grade. He attended Crane Junior High in Topeka for one year and finished his schooling at Topeka High School, graduating in 1960. Lloyd also attended Washburn and Kaw Valley Technical College.
Lloyd married Rose Mary Cole in Topeka, KS on December 17, 1962. They made their home in Meriden, Kansas. To this union three boys were born, Bret, Bart and Burt. Lloyd worked as a mechanist for Santa Fe Railroad from 1963 until his retirement in 2002. During some of this time he was a local chairman for the I.A.M Union. He became General Chairman for the Union after his time working in the shop. Lloyd was a man of many talents. He was an electrical contractor, and master electrician. He owned Wicks Electric for many years as a side job. Lloyd also farmed on the side until just a few months ago. He was a Cub Scout Master and Leader for the Meriden Cub Scouts. Lloyd and his wife aided in growing the Meriden Boy Scout Troop. He volunteered as an umpire while his boys were in little league. Lloyd enjoyed golfing, hunting, reading and photography. But most of all he enjoyed spending his time with his boys. Lloyd was very generous and would always be there to help anyone at any time. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Bret Wickersham and great grandson, Brenden Tate.

Grandchildren: Alexander Wickersham of Lawrence, KS, Ryan Duey and Amy Levendofske of Clay Center, KS, Dustin and Michelle Duey of Topeka, KS, Keysha and Shawn Chaney of Wakefield, KS, Wesley and Mary Duey of Abilene, KS.
Great-Grandchildren: Jaden and Tanner Tate, Addison and Sophia Duey, Hunter and Greyson Duey, and Leona Baer
Sister-In-Laws: Glenna Bowman of Kansas City, KS and Alice Christianson of San Antonio, TX
