Obituary-Lorin Kasper Jr.

Lorin Kasper Jr. died Wednesday, August 9th, 2023. He was born to Lorin Kasper Sr. and Elizabeth Sklar Kasper on January 12th, 1947 in Clay Center. Lorin attended Clay Center schools graduating from Clay Center Community High School in 1964. In 1965, Lorin and Jane Bender were married and had two children, Phil and Angela. Lorin served his community as Chief of Police, Clay County Undersheriff and Clay County EMS director.

In 1988, Lorin left Clay County to become Director of Leavenworth County EMS. In 1994, Lorin left his EMS career and accepted a position with Black and Decker. This gave him an opportunity to travel to several different locations managing and training employees. Lorin settled in Branson, MO managing a Black and Decker store until he retired.

It was in Branson that he met his wife, Laura. They were married January 28th, 2006 and celebrated 17 years of marriage.

Lorin was preceded in death by his parents, Lorin Sr. and Elizabeth Kasper and his sister, Judy Kasper.

He is survived by his wife Laura of Nixa, MO. His son, Phil Kasper and wife Jolie of Clay Center, KS, daughter Angela Sullivan and husband Tom of Leawood, KS. Laura’s sons, Mike Pelch and wife Joy of San Antonio, TX and Nick Pelch and wife Kelly of Ozark, MO. His grandchildren were the joy of his life and include Jace and Jalyn Kasper, Emma Sullivan, Gabriel Pelch, and Ellie and Parker Pelch.

Lorin was passionate about three things; his family, his grandkids and animals, especially dogs. Memorials may be made to CCARE in Clay Center.
