Obituary-Madeline L. Lambert

Madeline L Lambert, age 75, entered into rest on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the North Central Kansas Medical Center in Concordia, Kansas.  She was born in Concordia, Kansas on January 9, 1949, to Mitchell and Alma (Haist) Tate. 

Madeline was a 1967 graduate of Clyde High School.  Madeline then attended Marymount College.

Madeline married Harold Lambert on August 8, 1969, in St. Joseph, Kansas at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Harold preceded her in death on November 3, 2017.

She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Madeline grew up in the St. Joseph community on the family farm. After marrying Harold, she continued her life on the farm as a homemaker, farmer and rancher in the Clyde community.  For many decades she prepared taxes for many farmers and folks in the local area.  She was the bookkeeper for Sandy’s Café. Madeline also worked at Park Villa Nursing Home for a few years. Many area farmers will remember her as working for Clyde CO-OP Elevator which later became CVA where she eventually retired.   

Madeline enjoyed helping her neighbors, and most of all spending time with her family and friends.  She especially enjoyed gardening with her flowers.

She is survived by her two daughters, Lana Schaaf (Randy), Linn, KS.; Kristi Riney (Scott), Louisville, KY.; 3 grandchildren, Rylan Schaaf, Aleksandr and Lauren Riney, six sisters, Margaret Nobert, Clyde, KS; Loretta Koch (Dean), Clyde, KS; Johnita Crawford (Mickel), Clyde, KS; Michelle Brooks (Del), Manhattan, KS; Polly Silinskas, Pittsburgh, PA.; Jane Couture (Carroll) Belleville, KS; a brother, Donnie Tate, Concordia, KS; Brother-in-law, Pat Lambert (Joyce), Clyde, KS; sisters-in-law, Connie Tate and Mary Tate, many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Mitchell and Alma, her two brothers, Thad and Basil Tate. Her mother and father-in-law Francis and Mary Lambert, sister-in-law Judy Lambert, brothers-in-law Jim Nobert and Ron Silinskas and nephew Lance Koch. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m. at the Chaput Mortuary, Clyde.  Family will receive friends after the Rosary Service.

Mass of a Christian burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Clyde, with Fr. Steven Heina officiating.
