Obituary-Madeline Wright

Madeline M. Wright, age 100, entered into rest on Sunday, July 2, 2023 in Lincoln, Missouri surrounded by her family.  She was born on November 3, 1922 in Clyde, Kansas to Edward and Bernadette (Roy) Sicard.

Madeline was united in marriage to Joseph Ted Wright on September 24, 1942 in Kingman, Kansas.  He preceded her in death on September 3, 1997.

Madeline was a hard worker all her life, she was as a waitress, and was a farm wife.  She worked for Larry Lagasse Auctioneering and was famous for her fried chicken.  Madeline also enjoyed raising chickens on the farm.

Madeline was baptized into the Catholic Faith.

She was a 50 year member of the American Legion Women’s Aux and Lifetime member of V.F.W. women’s Aux. both in Concordia.

She is survived by her son, Larry Wright (Donna), Lincoln, MO; Step-grandchildren, Terri Burt and Shannon Breese; great grandchildren, Jackson Adair & Avery Watkins & great great grandson, Oakley Adair.

She was preceded by her husband, Ted, her parents, sister, Adeline “Dort” Willoughby & brothers, Hector “Junior”, Donald “Snowball”, Elmer & Norman Sicard.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 10, 2023 from 1-8 pm with the family greeting friends from 6-8 pm at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 10:00 am at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas.

Burial will take place in the Morrison Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas.
