Obituary-Melvin “Bud” Dean Kennedy

Melvin “Bud” Dean Kennedy, 93, entered into rest on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia, Kansas.  He was born on September 13, 1928, in Concordia, Kansas to Jesse and Marie (Parker) Kennedy.

Melvin grew up in the Cloud County community.  He was a 1946 graduate of Concordia High School, Concordia, Kansas.

Melvin was married to Jeannette E. Lambert on August 26, 1948, in Concordia, Kansas.  To this union two daughters were born, Susan and Nancy.  Jeannette preceded him in death on February 7, 2000.

He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, KS.

Melvin was a Woodcrafter a master cabinet maker.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and dancing.  Many people will remember his editorials in the newspaper.

He is survived by his two daughters, Susan Kennedy, Concordia, KS; Nancy McCormick, Colorado Springs, CO; a granddaughter, Melanie Whittenburg (Chris) and their son Warren of Edmond, OK.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette, his twin sister Mildred, and his older sister, June as well as his parents.

Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas with Fr. David Metz officiating.  Burial of cremains will take place later in the St. Concordia Catholic Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas.
