Paul M. Sweat, age 53, of Hutchinson, KS, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at his home in Hutchinson with his companion, Carla, by his side. He was born on August 28, 1971, in Belleville, KS to Loren M. & Deanna L. (Carter) Sweat.
He graduated from Pike Valley High School in 1989. He later graduated from Cloud County Community College in 1995 and then received his bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in Ag Econ in 1996.
He worked for Helena Chemical as a branch manager until his health forced him to retire.
He was involved with several agricultural associations and was a life member of the KSU Alumni Association.
Paul was an avid car collector, and he and Carla enjoyed camping together.
He is survived by his companion, Carla Bergstrom, Hutchinson, KS; his parents, Loren & Deanna Sweat, Jamestown, KS; sister, Lynda High (Tim), Topeka, KS and their children, Elvira & Doran High; brother-in-law, Shawn Schweitzer and his children, Mattox, Mya and Jaxton Schweitzer and his special littles, Indy & Miles.
Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents and a sister, Cynthia Schweitzer.
It was Paul’s wish to be cremated, and a Celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Norway Community Center, Norway, KS, with Pastor Randy Whitley officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be at a later date in the Valley Cemetery, Norway, KS. Friends may sign the register book from 9 am to 4 pm, Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, KS.
