Obituary-Paul Valcoure

Leo Paul Valcoure, age 76, left this earthly life on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Advena Living of Clay Center, Clay Center, KS.  He was born on May 25, 1946 in Aurora, KS to Neal C. & Beatrice “Bea” R. (Goyette) Valcoure.

He graduated from Aurora High School. He served in Germany the US Army.  Paul worked as a fireman in Salina, KS until returning to Concordia to help his mother.  He went to work for the Cloud County Co-Op elevator as a grain manager for over 30 years until his retirement.

He married Mary Beth Higgins in 1999 in Concordia.  He was a member of American Legion Post #76, serving as Commander, Chaplain, 6th District Chaplain and a host of other offices and positions.  He was a member of the Aurora Knights of Columbus.  Paul enjoyed playing golf and bowling.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth, Concordia; daughters, Chrissy Eickmann (Mick) & Patricia Ketterman (Scott), both of Concordia; brothers, Jim Valcoure, Salina, Bill Valcoure (Lisa), Concordia & John Valcoure, Clay Center; sister, Ruth Reynolds, Rossville; grandchildren, Marcus (Theresa) Eickman, Chase (Jordan) Streeter, Cassie (Austin) Peterson, Carlie (Jace) McKinney, Olivia Eickmann, Wyatt Barleen & Mason Eickmann & great grandchildren, Case McKinney, Maverick Peterson & Burkley Lynn Streeter.

He was preceded by his parents; a granddaughter, Kyra Voss & sister in law, Jane Valcoure.

The family selected cremation and graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, August 1, 2022 at St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia, KS with Military honors conducted by American Legion Post #76.  There will be no visitation.
