Obituary-Richard Bull

Richard Bull, 81 died September 23, 2023, in Clay Center, KS.  He was born on November 28, 1941, in Clay Center, the son of Maynard and Irene (Hatfield) Bull.  Richard was raised near the Oak Hill community.  He was a Class of 1959 graduate from Miltonvale High School.  Richard married Mary Jo Mattingly on June 22, 1963.  They made their home in the Clay Center community.  Richard worked for Rhea Construction, was self-employed for 26 years and worked for Mel’s Pump and Plumbing operating a backhoe and opening gravesites.  He dug graves in 101 different cemeteries.  Richard was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and served in the Army National Guard.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Bull.

Daughter: Kristen and husband Michael Brownell of Clay Center, KS

Sister: Virginia and husband Eugene Lilley of Longford, KS

Grandchildren: Colton Hughes, Greyson (Samatha) Hughes, Keegan Brownell, Jace Brownell, Hayden Bull & Haylee Bull

Great-Grandchild: Hendrix Hughes

Funeral Services: 10:30 AM Monday, October 2, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, KS.  The family request casual attire for those attending.

Minister: Rev. Scott Lingle

Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas

Visitation: 2-5 PM Sunday, October 1, at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center
