Obituary – Robert Ray Marsteller

Robert Ray Marsteller, 93, Washington, died Monday. May 30, 2022 at the Washington County Hospital, Washington.
A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Ward Funeral Home, Washington.
Burial will be in the Washington City Cemetery.
Ray was born on the family farm north of Washington on February 25, 1929 to Luther and Anna (Hill) Marsteller.  In 1945, he graduated from Washington High School and was inducted into the U.S. Army on August 22, 1951.  He served in Korea with Battery “A” 987th Field Artillery Battalion and was honorably discharged June 3, 1953.
Ray farmed and did odd jobs until April 1965, when he was employed by Schumacher Implement Company.  In 1977, he went to work for the Washington City Light Plant and retired in 1994.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Masonic Lodge #91 in Marysville. Ray held life memberships in the VFW, American Legion and National Rifle Association.
On October 28, 2000, Ray was united in marriage to Agnes Ann Linenberger Earhart at the Washington Presbyterian Church.  She survives.  Other survivors include stepson, Michael (Nora) Earhart, Manhattan; stepdaughter, Patti (Larry) Milius, Clay Center; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; infant brother, Luther Linn; and an infant grandchild.
A memorial fund is established and will be designated later.  Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington.
