Sandy L Parsons, age 82, went to be with her Lord on September 2, 2024, at her home in Wakefield, Kansas. She was born on January 5, 1942, in North Platte, NE, the oldest daughter of John and Ella Leeds. Sandy attended grade & high school in Tryon, NE. She was married in 1958 and became the proud mother of two children, Steven Alan and Lori Lynn. Being their mother was one of the greatest honors of her life. Sandy graduated Magna Cum Laude, from Kansas Wesleyan University, with a degree in Psychology and was proud to be hired by the Menninger Hospital, Topeka, KS.
On July 26, 1990, she married Phil Parsons, Ellsworth, KS, where they made their home for a short time prior to moving to Phoenix, AZ and then returning to Salina, KS in 2000 to be near family and friends. Their last move was in 2023 to Wakefield, KS to live with their daughter, Lori.
Sandy came to really know her Savior, who was her comfort & strength during her last years. She wanted her life to be a testimony to the grace of God, a story of His forgiveness, and in the end, overcoming every suffering with His love & mercy. Today she stands in the presence of a Holy God who knows all there is to know about her. The assurance of His unconditional love & forgiveness gave Sandy a peace that was treasured above all else. Her faith sustained her through every struggle.
Sandy is survived by her beloved husband, Phil, of the home. She is also survived by her daughter & grandson, Lori and AJ Bond, Wakefield, KS, a brother, Don (Charlotte) Leeds, of Kearney, NE, and a sister, Kendy (Kim) Herrick) of North Platte, NE.
