Obituary-Sondra Sue Hedberg

Sondra Sue Hedberg, 82, of Clay Center died on Monday, October 30, 2023 at her residence.  She was born May 31, 1941 in Clyde, Kansas, the daughter of Oscar and Marie (Fuller) Cranmer.  

Sue grew up in and attended schools in Clyde.  She married Norman Hedberg, Sr. on August 30, 1958 and he preceded her in death on December 19, 1997.  Sue was a housewife for many years.  She worked as a sales lady for McDonald’s and later, Mayo’s.  She then worked at Scott Specialties as a seamstress until her retirement.

Sue was a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a charter member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

She was also preceded in death by parents; son, Keith Hedberg; daughter, Mary Hedberg; great grandson, Braxton; 4 brothers, Glen Cranmer, Ralph Cranmer, Bill Cranmer and Jim Cranmer; 5 sisters, Velda Douglas, Ilene Hedberg, Sharon Logan, Judy Morgison and Connie Williamson.

Sue is survived by 3 sons, Norman, Jr. and his wife, Cindie Hedberg of Batavia, OH, David Hedberg of Clay Center, KS, and Scott and his wife, Trudy Hedberg of Portland, TX; daughter, Renea Manning of Clay Center, KS; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; brother, Kenneth and his wife, Cindy Cranmer of Tavares, FL and sister, Patricia Eye and her husband Leonard of Clay Center, KS.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 10:30AM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home  in Clay Center, Kansas.

Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Swedish Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Clay County, Kansas. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 3-7PM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center, Kansas.

Memorials may be made to Meadowlark Hospice and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
